How to Lead with Empathy and Compassion | MEET EVERYDAY HEROES with Alvina Kaufman
Would you like to lead with more empathy and compassion? If you said YES ... this is the episode for you.
Welcome to the Elevate Up Leadership Coaching Podcast and a deep-dive episode in our "EVERYDAY HEROES" series with your Host, your Coach, and "The Sherpa" Steve Seay!
Steve is sitting down today for an in-depth conversation with Alvina Kaufman. She is a Registered Nurse for 22+ years at Sutter Health in California. She's currently working as a Nursing Instructor and Teacher at Sutter Health University.
Alvina gives us the perfect reminder that "nothing is ever in a straight line" when it comes to life. Steve has known Alvina since 2010. The two met on what Steve says is probably the "hardest floor to work on in the hospital" - Trauma Neurosurgical ICU or TNI. Alvina was "different than any other nurse that Steve had ever met". He saw a spirit in her - a spirit of authenticity, realness, humor and compassion.
LISTEN FOR THIS MOMENT: Steve talks about patient care and Alvina's ability to help with such a degree of empathy and compassion, regardless of the circumstances or the setting.
